Fancy walking in a wonderland this winter? Well you can, with Tim Burton's interpretation of the classic tale of ALICE IN WONDERLAND, whose DVD and Blu-ray release ties in nicely with the Burton exhibition that's now open in Melbourne. Discover why Jeff Bridges won this year's Best Actor Oscar as a burnt-out country music star in CRAZY HEART. Then there is Mel Gibson's first lead role in years in the tense thriller EDGE OF DARKNESS; more stars than a night sky in romcom VALENTINE'S DAY; and Matt Damon searching for WMDs in Iraq's GREEN ZONE. The boys are back in town, too, in ENTOURAGE: SEASON 6. All this and so much more, where else but your nearest JB Hi-Fi store... VIEW THIS MONTH'S HOT PICKS»

The Men Who Stare At Goats
No goats. No glory. |
"More of this is true than you would believe" declares this movie's opening disclaimer. Ewan McGregor plays a journalist stationed in Iraq who smells a story when he meets George Clooney, who claims to be a member of a covert US Army branch from the 1980s that used paranormal powers as a weapon. These psychic spies claimed they possessed the ability to stop the hearts of goats and other animals with a well trained glance. Jeff Bridges (channelling The Dude from The Big Lebowski) is the drug addled Vietnam vet who trained this band of brothers in the secrets of out of body combat, and via flashback we're privy to these "Jedi mind tricks". With a title this quirky and a cast this cool, how can you resist this terrific wartime comedy? Highly recommended. Release date: Jul 14, 2010 |
