Fry cook Frank (Rainn Wilson) becomes masked superhero The Crimson Bolt after his wife (Liv Tyler) runs off with a sleazy drug dealer (Kevin Bacon).
Armed with a massive wrench and a female sidekick (Ellen Page), he becomes a new weapon in the war against crime.
Combining black comedy, R-rated ultraviolence and dramatic undercurrents, Super is enormous fun from a filmmaker who knows and loves the genre.
STARRING: Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon

Subject: Super
Super has Rainn Wilson playing a down and out loser who loses his wife to a gangster, played by Kevin Bacon. In between dealing with white people problems, Rainn's character eventually creates his own persona as a superhero with a sidekick played by Ellen Page.
A much richer, darker & comedic take on real-life superheroes than Kick Ass, Super takes a stylised approach from minute one with a strong animated title sequence and a fantastic maligned cinematography that is disorientating as it is gripping & realistic.
Super is not for everyone but those who have a taste for good comedic timing, strong dialogue, character & just all out gore, Super may be for you.
