Everybody cut loose...

Former Justin Timberlake back-up dancer Kenny Wormald ably fills Kevin Bacon’s dancing shoes as a streetwise newbie in a small town where music and dancing have been banned.

Dennis Quaid is the parent who proposed this strict new law, following the death of a group of teenagers on a night out. However, his rebellious daughter (Julianne Hough) is naturally drawn to this kid from out of town.

In the decades since the 1984 film, the clunky cassette walkman of the era has evolved into the iPod, and while the dance moves are hip and contemporary, director Craig Brewer stays true to the original’s themes of Southern-flavoured youthful revelry, rebellion and romance.

One for nostalgic parents and their dance-crazed offspring. Everybody cut loose...

STARRING: Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Dennis Quaid

I loved the original Footloose and enjoyed this remake. It was entertaining from start to finish. It stays true to the classic storyline and includes all the classic scenes including the angry dance solo in the barn.
I love a good dance movie and Footloose definitely didn't disappoint.
