The outback becomes a hot and dusty waking nightmare for a British schoolteacher (Gary Bond) Down Under. Following a boozy round of Two-Up, he suddenly finds himself broke and broken in the remote town of Bundanyabba (colloquially known as “the Yabba”) and is forced to endure the excessive hospitality of the locals (including Donald Pleasance and Chips Rafferty).

One of the most controversial Australian films ever made, not least for its graphic depiction of kangaroo shooting sojourns, Wake in Fright was also one of the most difficult films to actually see. Until now. A newly discovered print has been remastered for DVD and Blu-ray, making this lost 1971 classic available for the first time in over three decades. A must-have for all Australian film collections.
